Geometry by Hand

Draw, breathe and discover the process and infinite beauty of pattern

Over three hours, I'll guide you step by step through the process of constructing one of Morocco's beautiful geometric patterns.

No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to slow down. This is a peaceful, satisfying practice: part art, part meditation. Using simple tools, a compass and straightedge, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship, mathematics, and beauty of Moroccan geometric design.

In this workshop we'll explore a variation of the classic eight-pointed star and crosses pattern. Together we'll discover the significance of the number eight, learn how to construct the Khatam Sulaymani (the Seal of Solomon), building the foundation for creating this elegant geometric design, step by step.

The slow, focused nature of the process encourages calm, presence, and reflection. By the end of the afternoon, you'll leave with both a new understanding of geometric design and your own finished geometric artwork.
