I am an Australian artist based between Morocco and the Far South Coast of New South Wales. I work in photo media, including video, digital collage, and cyanotype prints. Originally trained in theatre, I hold an Advanced Diploma in Dramatic Art – Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts, I worked as a freelance director and dramaturg for over a decade before transitioning into video and photo-based media.
My practice is driven by a curiosity about how human experiences of the environment shape divine symbolism. All of my imagery is captured locally, grounding the work in place and process. An interest in repetition, which began in the theatre, deepened during my studies of Islamic geometric design in Morocco. These influences emerge through symmetry, mirroring techniques, and layered distortion, exploring the relationship between figuration and abstraction.
My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Craft Victoria, Northcote Town Hall, the City of Greater Dandenong, Photo Access Canberra, and the Institut Français in Fez, as well as in France, online, and at projection and public art festivals.
I am part of MAP (More Art Please), a collective of artists exploring the possibilities of art beyond traditional spaces—bringing events into the community through pubs, shopfronts, and open spaces. To find out more about MAP and its projects, visit www.moreartplease.au.
I am also the co-founder of Inlets Regional Arts Services. Alongside my partner, Liz McCrystal, we provide consultancy, project coordination, and installation services to regional arts organisations and schools.
